This year my family and I are going Simply Traditional. Our goal is to keep things tame.
We want to really focus on the family aspect of Thanksgiving. Instead of all the bells and whistles. We have decided to bake desserts together and play silly games with one another.
I am so excited and cannot wait for the much anticipated day.
I'm looking forward to welcoming the simple into our lives this Thanksgiving. All of the bells and whistles are a ton of fun and I do enjoy them. Although this year feels more like a chill year for us.
What are your plans for this coming thanksgiving?
What are you most excited to eat?

Happy Halloween Everyone!
I can not believe Halloween is finally upon us. Truth be told I am a little bummed October is winding down this year. I have been so busy with plans and projects that I wasn't able to enjoy the season as I would have liked. Although I am really excited because this year my daughter and I are dressing up as pirates and passing out candy to all the youngsters. I can't wait for tonight! I am so ready to dress up as a pirate with my daughter, but I am extremely ready to pass out all of the goodies we have for the youngsters this year. After we get to meet all of the spooky, creepy, super, and adorable costumes of all the youngsters. The plan is the then enjoy a hard cup of hot apple cider and watch a spooky movie, but nothing too spooky because I'll freely admit I am a chicken.
What are your plans for Halloween Night?
Are they cooler than mine?
And now I would like to give a very cheerful Hello to November!
I might be pretty freaking tired and still a little sick, but I am here to conquer. The beginning of November is always a fresh start in my mind. It's the time to start getting ready for the holidays and a time to start planning family time! Which is and probably will always be my favorite part of Fall and Winter! I just love being able to share a family dinner with all of my adult children at once. I always get those warm and fuzzy feelings of happiness and immense joy.
What is your favorite aspect of November?
Do you go to family or does family go to you for the holidays?
I hope everyone has a cool spooky Halloween filled with lots of safe excitement.

I created Thavin & Marcob in the living room of my rental house a few years ago. I put my heart and soul into every aspect. I love every nook and cranny of my company, but there are a few thing that I love more so than others.
Here are my top 5!
I spent forever and a day trying to create the perfect name for my bright lighted idea. The name Thavin & Marcob came to me while I was searching. In case you don't know, our name is a mash up of all five of my children's names.
Here's the breakdown..
Th- Our Youngest contribution
Av- Our 4th child's contribution
In- Is from my business partner
&- Stands for my husband and I
Mar- is from my first born
Cob- is from our second born
That's what I used to create the name
Thavin & Marcob
Unique is such a strong stand alone word.
I love that Thavin & Marcob fits with the word Unique.
I love the idea that the fashion choices I make with in Thavin & Marcob
have the ability to make a difference To others.
Whether it's a high end 100% cashmere scarf that was created by disabled weavers,
or a 1.00 Fair Trade Friendship bracelet. Both of these products mater to someone and to the world.
If I want to support a manufacture who is running a No Waste Manufacturing Plant..
then guess what I can do that at Thavin & Marcob.
If I truly don't care about the impact my purchase makes and I just need something to wear for my date night with my absolute amazing husband then yes, I can do that too!
I love the diversity and the acceptance that we are all uniquely different individuals.
As many of you know
I'm not the only owner of Thavin & Marcob. The kids all own a little piece of it. I am the founder and one of the CEO's. Our company is entirely family owned. We discuses everything from promotions to who's turn it is to clean the windows.
The community support has always amazed me.
I'm humbled by it, I'm truly honored by those who knew us when we were first starting out and we only had a landing page and we didn't know what we were doing and my blog post from that time where horrible! I know it, you know it, and yet you still encouraged my with love to keep going. to not give up. Those people are what kept me going when I got tired , those people are why I keep growing, why I'm still doing what I do. I'm always looking for better ways, a way to grow, to learn something new that will benefit all of us. And truly I have the community to thank for that drive.
Starting Thavin & Marcob has taken me beyond my comfort zone time and time again.
The experience of that is one that I can never replace. Even today I'm stretching out my arms ready to embrace the new, to take chances, to put myself out into the world that I may not have done if not for the fact that I started Thavin & Marcob.
I love my job. There is never any doubt or uncertainty when it come to the love I have for my job. I know I might sound full of it to some of you, but I am being 100% honest when I say I love my job. I love discovering new trends and showing them to others. I love discovering new amazing companies that I can effortlessly add into our categories. As annoying as it probably sounds to some of you. I just love my job.
No matter any way you flip it I technically work in retail. While retail is this vast ocean filled to the brim with other stores. There is one thing that many, not all, but many have in common. Of which I happen to hate.
It's The holidays...
I enjoy the holiday season just like the next gal. I love the warm, sparkle, magical, feeling that comes with the holiday season. However as the years have progressed I have noticed that the holidays seems to be making an earlier and earlier appearance in numerous amounts of retail stores.
This year I spotted Christmas decorations up and ready to sell as soon as August.
August! Christmas is in December. Why put out Christmas products four months in advance?
I personally think that the action is a silly one and for me only helps to cheapen the feeling of Christmas. I can't possibly be the only one, but seeing holiday decorations hypes me up and gets me really excited. However when you see them four months in advance that hype/excited feeling diminishes and falls away. I have felt this way my entire life and can't help, but to be sadden that a feeling I loved so much has been lost.
I am fully aware of Why stories choose to put out holiday merchandise so in advanced.
While I have no power when it come to other retails and how/when they choose to present to the public their holiday merchandise. I do have some say for my home. My family and I choose to celebrate each holiday individually and at the traditional scheduled time. We decorate for Halloween, for Thanksgiving, and for Christmas all during their perspective months. This is just something we do to keep the warm, sparkle, magical feeling of each holiday alive and well.
What's the one thing you hate about retail?
When do you decorate for Christmas?
Let us know we love learning and growing and a majority of that comes from you!

August has been a pretty busy month for us and unfortunate our Blog Articles have suffered. I apologize for dropping the ball and not putting out articles during our usual schedule.
I thought today I would highlight some firsts for me that happened in July. I promise our regular schedule of Blogs will resume This coming Monday.
July was an amazing moth.
It was a month that I had the privilege of experiencing a huge amounts of first,
ones that will last a lifetime. First, that while enjoyed in the moment will become amazing memories in the years to come.
If you missed the article on my famous I'm going to learn how to do that magic contouring thing that is all the rage! It was almost a first and well the memory will sure to be funny in the years that come as we remember all the escapades before the wedding of my dreams!
As the years have passed the moments of first with my boys has become wider in time of occurrences. They are growing up, gone our the days of first crawls, first time tastes of real food, first steps. As they grow those special moments naturally happen less often. Last month, I was able to participate in a moment of firsts when we went shopping for there first suits.
It wasn't just the shopping together that was the experience. It was seeing them with fresh eyes, seeing them all grown up, as adults, as these young men who will go out into the world and create a life, a family of there own. In that moment when they walked out of the dressing room in these fresh new suites I saw what others see. I no longer saw children, I suddenly saw them as the young men they had become!
Walking Down The Isle
I did it!
I walked down the aisle in a church towards the man of my dreams.
The one I have built a life with, the one who loves me in spite of my flaws!
We have been married for 25 years and we have had our ups and downs as everyone else has had. We made it!
We did not do the traditional wedding the first time around. We were pretty broke back in the day so we opted for a courtroom marriage and a small reception at my parents home.
This time around I found it was highly important that we take the time to make a statement of our marriage and to celebrate our life together!
The Wedding Dress
Shopping for a wedding dress is an amazing experience in itself. Shopping for a wedding dress with your daughter is purely magical! We talked, we laughed, and we enjoyed spending time together on this very special mission.
The month was filled with lots of firsts for our fantastic day!
Moments that will soon turn into faint memories, yet that's what life is.
Enjoy your moments no matter how small they may appear at the time. They will soon become the memories that bring faint smiles that start upon your lips and slowly warm your heart.
What's a wedding ceremony without a few disasters.
While at the end of the night I was happy and content. There were still some disasters that could have been easily avoided if I had only taken some time to step back and think about how I wanted the big day to work. While in the moment every disaster felt like the world was crumbling right under my feet. When all was said and done I had a great time celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary with my husband, children, and life long friends.
Thavin & Marcob is a place where you are celebrated for being you!
