Thanks to the comedian Jimmy Kimmel we now have a theoretically
no judgment National Unfriend Day.
National Unfriend Day started in 2014 so don't freak if you didn't know it existed. While there are all sorts of media users. I know that I can't be the only one who doesn't like to have the cousin of a friend of a friend or a friend's ex boyfriend on my personal Facebook page. So if you're like me or if you just think that its about time you clean up your media. Then you might find National Unfriend Day to be extremely handy and just the nudge you need.
Here are 7 steps that I like to follow.
I personally like to grab a bottle of wine and pour myself big glass.
Sometimes I find that I need a little liquid courage to unfriend some of my random relatives.
I like to write up a creative little post vaguely giving answer to the necessary purge.
My go to is simply that I am taking a break from the internet,
One my post is written and my first glass is done. I pour myself a second and begin to unfriend.
The trick is to be quick. If you have to take time to think about why they should stay or feel the need to justify their Facebook friendship then they don't need to really be there.
Once I gone really fast through my list and clicked away the obvious people. I find it is now time for glass number 3 because the next step is to get rid of people who are more negative than positive.
Negatively is overrated and you can definitely do without. If when thinking about someone, you can't really think of many good qualities or if they make you feel bad/question yourself. Then you are probably safe with the decision to unfriend.
Now that I have gone through my list twice now. The first a click frenzy and the second a negative
nancy dump. It is now time to move onto the people who you just don't connect with. This in particular to mean means people with just outrageous opinions that I really could care less to hear. One of my biggest pet peeves is someone commenting on things when they refuse to educate themselves with all sides. So glass number 4 in I click away all the stuck up silly little people that I do not really connect with.
Now that all of the unfriending has been done. I find it helpful to take a step back and relish in your purge. I find this the perfect time to wind down from all the excitement and go to bed.
With a good night sleep under your belt and sober eyes. It is now a good time to look over your friends list and see if maybe you made mistake unfriending your grandmother.
It's up too you how intense you want to interpret Nation Unfriends Day.
Unfriend that random girl you met in a bar 4 years ago or go in and unfriend your annoying cousin who you just don't like.
It can be scary, but you got this.
Let us know how it goes #ThavinMarcob @ThavinMarcob
This year my family and I are going Simply Traditional. Our goal is to keep things tame.
We want to really focus on the family aspect of Thanksgiving. Instead of all the bells and whistles. We have decided to bake desserts together and play silly games with one another.
I am so excited and cannot wait for the much anticipated day.
I'm looking forward to welcoming the simple into our lives this Thanksgiving. All of the bells and whistles are a ton of fun and I do enjoy them. Although this year feels more like a chill year for us.
What are your plans for this coming thanksgiving?
What are you most excited to eat?

Whatever your plans, I hope you have a splendid time!
National Kindness day is celebrated annually on November 13th.
Which just so happens to be tomorrow.
This wonderful day was first launched in 1998. The idea around creating such a day
was that it would help to promote kindness that would benefit the world.
National Kindness Day is a day where all are encouraged to be spontaneous in our goodwill gestures. To everyone and anyone that you come across.
This meaningful movement has grown quite a bit over the years.
It's a great little annual reminder to not just encourage kindness on November 13th,
but all throughout the entire year. Random acts of kindness don't necessarily need to big these big grand gestures. They can be small and most importantly they can be free!
A smile to a stranger is free! It cost you nothing and can be infectiously contagious.
It's a small insignificant goodwill gesture that has the ability to spread innocently from one to another. It's a goodwill gesture that keeps on giving and giving.
Did I mention it was free?
Over the years there have been quite a few different studies published about the connection between positivity in your brain among happiness and kindness.
This is big and here is why...
When sharing a smile you begin to create two things.
One is a positive loop in your brain and one in the brain of the person
who received your glorious smile. Meaning both your brains are creating positive loops.
Science has found a link between being kind and our happiness. Which means we are not only happy when we are kind, but you help to make someone else happy by being kind.
National Kindness Day may be tomorrow, but why not start a day earlier.
It's good for you, it's good for the people around you, and it's good for the world.
Happy Monday Everyone!
Planning a dinner party can be a scary task to face. There are an infinite amount of choices one can make. From what to serve, how to serve, what drinks to provide, and what foods or ingredients are off limits due to allergies. The list can honestly go on and on till you find yourself with a five hundred item check list for a dinner party of 10. Since I now the nervous anticipation that can accompany your dinner party. I thought I would share with you a quick dinner party planning guide that I have refined over the years.
Atmosphere is key in most situations!
It's what sets the tone/mood for the entire night. I'm currently planning on hosting a relaxing dinner with friends. There is nothing I love more than sipping wine after a wonderful meal talking with friends that bring me such joy. My dinner party in this instance is going to be more casual and chill. therefore this guide will not be very detail oriented. For instance like napkin color or fork placement. I have planned many dinner parties in various levels of intensity. If you have never planned a dinner party or hosted one before. I do suggest while very brave in pursuit going all in and hosting a five course dinner equipped with a dessert table and entertainment. I do honestly recommending dipping your toes in to start with and opting to host something more casual and chill as your introductory dinner into dinner party hosting.
One of the basics in dinner party hosting and most important is Atmosphere. Think about the feeling that you want people to catch when they walk through the doors. Do you want them to feel excited, happy, calm, hungry, etc.. For this dinner I would like my friends to feel clam and relaxed. I want them to instantly feel comfortable and welcomed. In order to achieve this vibe, I have decided that I would like to have a lower lighting setting so that I can place candle all around the upstairs portion of my home. I am going to make sure that all of my candles are unscented. So that the smell of delicious food is the thing that immediately hits my friends nostrils. I also want my friends to feel cozy and warm so I am doing to make sure that I turn the heater on a comfortable setting for everyone to feel warm, but not hot and irritable.
Don't Forget The Music!
Music is technically a subcategory of Atmosphere, but is important that it must be mentioned on it's own. For my dinner I want to achieve a mellow clam vibe. I'm thinking that I will play soft jazz or one of my favorite stations Andrea Bocelli Radio.
Your choice in music and your choice in volume. Are two things that while can be said simply are in actuality so important that if you think too much about it you drive yourself crazy. So if your are feeling a little over whelmed, don't over think it just go with your gut. If all else fails and come the dinner the music just isn't working. Ask one of your guests to pick. Opening up this line will also help to start conversation between your guests about musical taste and preference. While music helps set the tone Conversation in dinner parties is the thing that is going to bring meaning and fulfilment to your party.
The table set up depends on how you want to serve the food. If you would like to have a more buffet style then all you need on the dinner table are the essentials, unless you opt to have them placed next to the food for your guests to grab as they begin to eat. If this route is chosen then your table may only house some beautiful décor. If you would like to produce more of a family style dinner. Then you would need to think about food dish placement. As well as the placement of the essentials like plates, forks, and cups. If this is the path you choice then you may want to opt out on the décor or limit it. So that the focus can be on the food and so that it is easy for guest to fill their plates.
I am going to go the family style route. I have chosen this for a few reasons. I would like to invoke that family get together feeling. As a cheat code I am going to start off with it being in that set up. I also wish for my friends to conversate with one another without much distraction. Therefore I am going to eliminate to possibility for one to not be able to see another's face because décor is in the way. I also do not want for them to be continually getting up and breaking a conversation in order to get more food. By putting the food on the table with my guests and by not having table décor I am hoping to achieve said desires.
Having a theme usually helps when planning the dinner menu.
You can also pick food that are your gests or your favorites.
I am going for a more simple and familiar dishes.
I will be serving soup, salad, past, bread, and cake.
For beverages I will have the options of wine, water, and soda.
Here's a quick checklist for you guys!
- Décor … Candles
-Food Serve Style
-Appetizers .. Soup/Salad
-Entrée .. Pasta with Bread
-Dessert .. Cake
-Drink .. Alcohol/Non Alcoholic
Remember to enjoy your company the more you have planned ahead.
The more time you give yourself to enjoy the night.
I hope your next dinner part is a smash!
Show me the different ways you chose to make your dinner party unique to your beautiful soul.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
With much love and admiration, ThavinMarcob

The Fall season is in full swing and I couldn't be more happier.
There is something about Fall Fashions that sends my heart into a soar.
Everyone has their ride or die styles, here are mine.
*I might share them a lot, but I can't help it Fashion is my Passion and I love sharing it with you.
Step Out In Style With A Vest
Vests are just great. I mean what can't I say about them. Vest to me are an absolute wardrobe essential. Style them up, down, in the spring, summer, fall, extra warmth for the winter. I view vests as the infinite fashion piece, with the security of always being the never ending. While also holding the same cozy concept, but able to present itself in so many trendy and classic ways. For instance a Brown/Mustard Plaid Vest screams Fall Festivities to me. Lined with fuzzy fabric. It will keep you warm and looking trendy for the season. Or pick yourself up a Long Classic Cut Black Vest that with no debate can easily accentuate any outfit. I could truly go on and on, but to save some breathe, in short. I believe vest to be fantastic.
A Good Snuggle Throw With A Loved One
I know I have mentioned casually with you how cool throw blankets are, how handy I think they are, and how beloved my Fireside Throw is to my heart. However I do not think I have ever given much detail into my secret sorted past with throw blankets. I used to purchase throw blankets left and right, All sorts were fair game to me. Fuzzy, festive, bright, thick, or outrageous. There was no end to my infinite love for throws. You would think that with my continued passion for purchase I would have closets full. Although I do not because with a family of seven, three dogs, and a cat. They so kindly helped to destroy my throws, helping me make room for more. It wasn't until some years back I cut back on my obsessive purchases of throws and started to invest in ones that I felt were really worth it. For instance our Fireside throw has lasted beach excisions, mountain hikes, Fourth of July's, park picnics. This baby has beautifully with held the forces of my five children, my husband, my three dogs, and our cat. Once I discovered throws with value my throw blanket games was forever changed.
Hat Hair and I Don't Care
Hats are wonderful and while I do not wear them very often. For the fact that the strong ocean winds are continuously attempting to steal my fashion away for itself. I still absolutely adore them and love when the opportunity arises for myself to confidently rock one with my outfit, Beanies are a new discovery for me. I have personally just never really been into the beanie look, but boy have I been missing out. I might get hat hair, but the warmth I get in return means I will happily accept a little crazy hair in return.
Free Up Those Hands, I've Got Plans
When your on the go whether it be for work or adventure. No one especially me like to be weighted down by all of the silly things that have to tag along with you. I will never under value a good purse or backpack. There have been so many time where having one has made my life so much easier. There are also time where I will kick myself if I forget one or if I opt for a smaller one and end up not having enough space for all my things, I appreciate room, style, and functionality, and I am in love with our It's Lovely Backpack because this baby has the secret power of being a backpack, a satchel, or a purse. Versatility is key the key to winning in fashion.
I hope all of you have a happy Monday.
With much love and appreciation Thavin & Marcob.

Happy Halloween Everyone!
I can not believe Halloween is finally upon us. Truth be told I am a little bummed October is winding down this year. I have been so busy with plans and projects that I wasn't able to enjoy the season as I would have liked. Although I am really excited because this year my daughter and I are dressing up as pirates and passing out candy to all the youngsters. I can't wait for tonight! I am so ready to dress up as a pirate with my daughter, but I am extremely ready to pass out all of the goodies we have for the youngsters this year. After we get to meet all of the spooky, creepy, super, and adorable costumes of all the youngsters. The plan is the then enjoy a hard cup of hot apple cider and watch a spooky movie, but nothing too spooky because I'll freely admit I am a chicken.
What are your plans for Halloween Night?
Are they cooler than mine?
And now I would like to give a very cheerful Hello to November!
I might be pretty freaking tired and still a little sick, but I am here to conquer. The beginning of November is always a fresh start in my mind. It's the time to start getting ready for the holidays and a time to start planning family time! Which is and probably will always be my favorite part of Fall and Winter! I just love being able to share a family dinner with all of my adult children at once. I always get those warm and fuzzy feelings of happiness and immense joy.
What is your favorite aspect of November?
Do you go to family or does family go to you for the holidays?
I hope everyone has a cool spooky Halloween filled with lots of safe excitement.

I created Thavin & Marcob in the living room of my rental house a few years ago. I put my heart and soul into every aspect. I love every nook and cranny of my company, but there are a few thing that I love more so than others.
Here are my top 5!
I spent forever and a day trying to create the perfect name for my bright lighted idea. The name Thavin & Marcob came to me while I was searching. In case you don't know, our name is a mash up of all five of my children's names.
Here's the breakdown..
Th- Our Youngest contribution
Av- Our 4th child's contribution
In- Is from my business partner
&- Stands for my husband and I
Mar- is from my first born
Cob- is from our second born
That's what I used to create the name
Thavin & Marcob
Unique is such a strong stand alone word.
I love that Thavin & Marcob fits with the word Unique.
I love the idea that the fashion choices I make with in Thavin & Marcob
have the ability to make a difference To others.
Whether it's a high end 100% cashmere scarf that was created by disabled weavers,
or a 1.00 Fair Trade Friendship bracelet. Both of these products mater to someone and to the world.
If I want to support a manufacture who is running a No Waste Manufacturing Plant..
then guess what I can do that at Thavin & Marcob.
If I truly don't care about the impact my purchase makes and I just need something to wear for my date night with my absolute amazing husband then yes, I can do that too!
I love the diversity and the acceptance that we are all uniquely different individuals.
As many of you know
I'm not the only owner of Thavin & Marcob. The kids all own a little piece of it. I am the founder and one of the CEO's. Our company is entirely family owned. We discuses everything from promotions to who's turn it is to clean the windows.
The community support has always amazed me.
I'm humbled by it, I'm truly honored by those who knew us when we were first starting out and we only had a landing page and we didn't know what we were doing and my blog post from that time where horrible! I know it, you know it, and yet you still encouraged my with love to keep going. to not give up. Those people are what kept me going when I got tired , those people are why I keep growing, why I'm still doing what I do. I'm always looking for better ways, a way to grow, to learn something new that will benefit all of us. And truly I have the community to thank for that drive.
Starting Thavin & Marcob has taken me beyond my comfort zone time and time again.
The experience of that is one that I can never replace. Even today I'm stretching out my arms ready to embrace the new, to take chances, to put myself out into the world that I may not have done if not for the fact that I started Thavin & Marcob.
Thavin & Marcob is a place where you are celebrated for being you!
