Last week I published an article about Bullet Journaling. If you're unfamiliar with the New Trend. It is simply a Journal/Planner/Adventure Book combined into one Journal that way everything is one hand and in one place at all times. I have been using my Bullet Journal for a while now. Through this New Adventure I have learned quite a few things about myself.
I'm not adult enough to keep track of my pens!
I started out with a color coded legion that would help me see things at a glance that needed to get done. Well now everything is in black ink. Why because I lost my pens!
I love post it notes more than I thought I did.
I mean I really love them. In fact I am more willing to reach for a post it and hang it on whatever wall is closets to me than grab my journal and write it down. I just have to learn a new habit. Instead of using post its, I'll have to remember to grab my journal to jot down any Ideas/Plans I have.
My ideas are more easily explainable when they are jotted down on paper first before I attempt to explain them to others. I find that when I write something out first I give myself time to think things through in my own head rather than out loud during a conversation with someone else. Which always ends up in frustration and confusion for all parties involved.
I didn't realize how many notebooks I really worked out of every week. I'm still struggling to put everything into one journal, but I think with some practice and patience I will get there.
I am not a particularly artistic person. So my journal does not have any neat little drawings throughout its pages, but I do spend time trying to dress up the pages. Which I have actually found to be relaxing, kind of like adult coloring.
I enjoy having the bullet journal more than I enjoy carrying around a traditional organizer. I think I enjoy far more because it is mine. I set it up, I create the pages, and there is no prompt saying you have to put this here and that there. I have the power to put whatever information I want wherever I want.
Paper thickness and quality matters to me. This was a surprise because it is just paper, but I have found that I enjoy flipping through higher quality paper. I feel like I'm actually flipping through a novel. One that I created that holds a story of my everyday life. One that is actually recording the growing that ThavinMarcob is achieving.
The size of the journal matters to me. I found that I use mine more often because it does fit into my purse. If it wasn't so easy to carry around I think it probably would become one of those oh I use to do that.
I change my mind a lot. I have no issues scribbling things out and saying nope that's a bad idea time to move on.
I'm having fun with my Bullet Journal. I have list for Tuesday Adventures, What Makes Me Happy, the lists just go on and on. Two that I just started are What Success Means To Me and What I Want Life To Look Like In 10 Years. The 10 year list is forever changing,.but I find it helps me to align my Work Goals with my Personal Goals.
Over all I am having a blast with Bullet Journaling. I find it incredibly helpful with helping me get my thoughts/ideas/goals out on paper. I find it incredibly Empowering and suggest that everyone give it a try. Even if it does not work for you, at least you can say that you tried something new and interesting.
We Hope you have a Fantastic Day!
Thavin & Marcob is a place where you are celebrated for being you!
