We were recently in the market for a new camera because lets admit it our pictures are severely lacking that professional sparkle. An ampule amount of research was done and now we believe we know exactly which camera body and lenses will best suit our desired goals. All that was left was to find a place that carried what we wanted and purchase it. I am huge on online shopping. I like being able to stay at home in my comfy clothes and avoid all of those pesky lines. With our list in hand and my feet securely tucked away in some slippers. It was time to find an online store to purchase our camera body and lens. After much time looking online were found three separate sites that carried the equipment we required at great prices. While all were asking decent prices for the equipment we were interested in. We eliminated one of the three because the prices we just a tab bit higher. It was now down to two online retailers and the last question we asked ourselves was Who Owns It.
Who Owns It?
A few weeks ago I asked the twitter sphere for some new podcast recommendations. I was looking for something new and unique. That was also fun and entertaining. As luck would have it I was meet by quite a few different recommendations. While shifting through all of the wonderful recommendations. There were two podcasts in particular that stood out. they left such a strong impression with me that I felt it necessary to share it with all of you. Hopefully you will find them as amazing as I did.
The first podcast awoke memories inside me of when I was younger. It brought back memories of my mother hanging out with her friends in the kitchen drinking coffee, While us children were running around playing. When I became a mom myself. I also experienced these moments. Of friends coming to hang out swapping stories over a fresh brewed pot of coffee. I remember the first time I had this experience. I truthfully felt like I was playing dress up. At the time I did not really feel like an adult. As both my children and I got older these moments became few and far between. I however was pleasantly surprised when Ruth's podcast The Creative Space Project awoke these memories and feeling deep within side me. Her podcasts allow me to experience the art of oral storytelling with the added bonus of making it feel intimate and giving it the feeling of home.
At the time of writing this article. I have listened to a total of three episodes.
Cosplay and Gender
Acts of Dignity
Times were Different
Each of these stories focuses on the stories of a different woman's experiences and values
Spring has sprung in many places. There are however those unlucky few that have not experienced the Spring season quite yet. As we all know this might lead to Cabin Fever setting in. You are hearing all about how wonderful Spring is. How the days are longer and how the days start to feel slightly more warmer. I sometimes suffer from Cabin Fever myself. While living in the Pacific Northwest has a great many perks, it also has its faults. One of them being that sometimes I don't actually see the sun for what feels like weeks. If your feeling even the slightest bit of Cabin Fever give our ideas of how to combat it a try.
Sharing Our Ideas
Good morning everyone.
This past weekend my mother came into town to visit. So like most children even though I am a mother myself. I still went through the process of deep cleaning my house to prepare for her much awaited arrival. Since I am already went through all of the motions of Spring Cleaning my house. I thought that it was the perfect topic to fit into sour Spring Spread.
Best Place To Start
When you begin your Spring cleaning it is always best to start from the top and work your way down. That way gravity can help out a bit and bring some together on the floor. After cleaning my house I was surprised to realize how much dirt accumulated on our light fixtures. It was both impressive and completely disgusting. I just can not rap my head around how my three children, two dogs, and cat managed to put that much dirt on our light fixtures, crown molding, and the celling's corners.
Record players have been growing in popularity for some time now. While I do consider myself a trendy chick. I was in fact a few steps behind when it came to enjoying vinyl again. About two weeks ago I thought that it would be a neat addition to our living room. I had no idea when I order this seemingly ancient music box that it would make such a splash in my household. I was thinking that I would buy it and play a few records over the holidays. I however was pleasantly surprised when the children that still live at home took a liking to the record player.
The seemingly simple purchase I made about two weeks ago has breathed a whole new life into my house. I now find the kids looking for songs together and deciding on which albums they should get next. They are even spending time listening to the vinyl records together. I am really amazed by how much the record player has brought them together, Our record player has helped to bring about a new common interest into their relationship. Which is amazing and always welcome in my house. Our new record player has also granted me the amazing gift of new memories with my children hanging out together, laughing, and just enjoying each others company. This has even become a common family interest. This weekend we visited a local recoded store. It was fun to watch my children looking around and enjoying the physical act of exploring different artists and different genres,
