The Save The dates have gone out. The church is booked. Flights, and sleeping arrangements have been made. Everyone is coming and I'm no where near as far in the planning stages I should be. Photo Joanna Kosinska Where To StartWell believe it or not I had the save the dates done before I even booked a church! So the church is the best place to start. We have a home church so that was easily done. The pastor was fantastic in helping us out too! I explained I didn't want to go all out and decorate the church that I was looking for something simple yet elegant and wonderfully he had a solution We were planning on purchasing a few large arrangements for the alter. Which is pretty traditional, but here's the best part we get to leave them there for those who attend service the next day to enjoy! It's a win, win. Photo Ruth Gledhill Church is Done Now WhatI have decided to have the ceremony will be in the church. Now it's time to decide what everyone will eat and where everyone will be eating at. I thought about having us all go to a restaurant which has its benefits. The main two are ... 1) We wouldn't have to clean. 2) We wouldn't have to worry about tables, chairs, tablecloths, silverware, etc… I also thought about having our reception in a hall. Benefits to this option are. 1) We could use the church reception hall. Which would be equipped with necessary supplies like tables and chairs. 2) We could hire a catering company to drop off food. Then the thought occurred to me that we did just buy my dream house. This is my forever house. I want to make memories that will last us a lifetime. So yeah, I went for the more difficult route and decided to hold the reception in my house. Photo Jacalyn Beales Getting The House ReadyI have decided that the event will be spread out between the back porch, the living room, and the driveway. Our yard is unfortunately unlevel which makes it rather impossible to use as a reception spot. My drive way however is large enough and level enough to stick a few tables and chairs on for my guest to enjoy the night air with ease. The Ordering Has StartedThere is so much that needs to be order for the big day. It's crazy because even the smallest things still hold so much importance. I'm trying my best to get everything so that our Wedding Renewal Ceremony will run with smoothly. It's a lot of work, but I am committed.
