Winter is a fabulous season filled with snowfall and endless possibilities. I know that after a few weeks of winter most of us are ready to move on to warmer days. Where running to get milk isn't a whole ordeal. I am the same way, but thankfully I have the most amazing children who help me to remember that there is always fun to be found in the chaos and that magical memories can be made when you embrace the winter for all it's freezing glory. Here is how my family and I choose to embrace the winter. SleddingSledding down a hill or two is a great way to have some innocent winter fun. I might lose control and roll into some brush, but it's all apart of the adventure. What's a more laugh triggering memory than remembering the time mom went rolling into a ditch because she was going to fast and got a little scared? It's memories like these that make embracing the winter worthwhile. Cocoa and SnowfallOne of my favorite winter activities to do with my children is drinking hot chocolate and watching the snowfall from the safety of my living room. When all the outdoor fun has been had. I find there is nothing more peaceful than gathering to sit in front of the window with hot chocolate in our hands marveling at the beauty nature provides us. Winter WalkWe are a family who loves nature and taking an easy nature stroll is something that we truly enjoy. Snow and ice might be annoying when you have things to do and no time to waste, but if you take a breathe and let go of schedules and times. An easy winter walk really helps to lift your spirit and to help you remember the excitement that is rediscovering nature when it is coated in a bed of white. A Friendly Reminder For HydrationI know that sometimes important skin regiments might fall to the way side when life gets in the way, but I find that winter is a great natural reminder to stay moisturized and hydrated. While you might not be able to see the sun, sunscreen is still incredibly important. The snow helps to reflect the suns UV rays onto your skin. So while it may not be abundantly obvious like a hot summers day. Make sure before you head out for some snow fun, you put on a nice protective layer of sunscreen. The fabulous winter winds can also dry out your skin. This is something that you will eventually notice from sheer discomfort, but try to stay ahead and hydrate your skin and lips with moisturizing. Water is key when exerting energy building the snowman of all snowmen. Keep water close on hand and stay hydrated this winter.
