Happy Halloween Everyone!
I can not believe Halloween is finally upon us. Truth be told I am a little bummed October is winding down this year. I have been so busy with plans and projects that I wasn't able to enjoy the season as I would have liked. Although I am really excited because this year my daughter and I are dressing up as pirates and passing out candy to all the youngsters. I can't wait for tonight! I am so ready to dress up as a pirate with my daughter, but I am extremely ready to pass out all of the goodies we have for the youngsters this year. After we get to meet all of the spooky, creepy, super, and adorable costumes of all the youngsters. The plan is the then enjoy a hard cup of hot apple cider and watch a spooky movie, but nothing too spooky because I'll freely admit I am a chicken.
What are your plans for Halloween Night?
Are they cooler than mine?
And now I would like to give a very cheerful Hello to November!
I might be pretty freaking tired and still a little sick, but I am here to conquer. The beginning of November is always a fresh start in my mind. It's the time to start getting ready for the holidays and a time to start planning family time! Which is and probably will always be my favorite part of Fall and Winter! I just love being able to share a family dinner with all of my adult children at once. I always get those warm and fuzzy feelings of happiness and immense joy.
What is your favorite aspect of November?
Do you go to family or does family go to you for the holidays?
I hope everyone has a cool spooky Halloween filled with lots of safe excitement.

I love my job. There is never any doubt or uncertainty when it come to the love I have for my job. I know I might sound full of it to some of you, but I am being 100% honest when I say I love my job. I love discovering new trends and showing them to others. I love discovering new amazing companies that I can effortlessly add into our categories. As annoying as it probably sounds to some of you. I just love my job.
No matter any way you flip it I technically work in retail. While retail is this vast ocean filled to the brim with other stores. There is one thing that many, not all, but many have in common. Of which I happen to hate.
It's The holidays...
I enjoy the holiday season just like the next gal. I love the warm, sparkle, magical, feeling that comes with the holiday season. However as the years have progressed I have noticed that the holidays seems to be making an earlier and earlier appearance in numerous amounts of retail stores.
This year I spotted Christmas decorations up and ready to sell as soon as August.
August! Christmas is in December. Why put out Christmas products four months in advance?
I personally think that the action is a silly one and for me only helps to cheapen the feeling of Christmas. I can't possibly be the only one, but seeing holiday decorations hypes me up and gets me really excited. However when you see them four months in advance that hype/excited feeling diminishes and falls away. I have felt this way my entire life and can't help, but to be sadden that a feeling I loved so much has been lost.
I am fully aware of Why stories choose to put out holiday merchandise so in advanced.
While I have no power when it come to other retails and how/when they choose to present to the public their holiday merchandise. I do have some say for my home. My family and I choose to celebrate each holiday individually and at the traditional scheduled time. We decorate for Halloween, for Thanksgiving, and for Christmas all during their perspective months. This is just something we do to keep the warm, sparkle, magical feeling of each holiday alive and well.
What's the one thing you hate about retail?
When do you decorate for Christmas?
Let us know we love learning and growing and a majority of that comes from you!

One of my favorite aspects of Fall is feeling the temperature begin to drop a few degrees. I absolutely love the cold weather and welcome it with open arms. When the time presents itself I do like to indulge in a toasty warm spiked beverage every now and again.
I thought today I would share with you my current go to recipes
for that deliciously warm perfect Fall spiked beverage.
Delectiable Hot Apple Cider
Hot apple cider alone makes my mouth water with just it's delicious smell.
Recently we were experimenting and realized that paired with Brandy
an adult friendly Fall themed cup of goodness is born.
If you find yourself hosting a party this Fall. Mugs of Delectable Hot Apple Cider is the beverage choice everyone is sure to love. If you have the time try and make it from scratch. I know that I am definitely going to try sometime this season.
Make It Photo Worthy
I'm always too excited to warm up my belly with this sweet apple cider concoction to make it
"photo worthy", but if you're feeling it. Decorate your mug of hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick or with a slice of apple.
Ticklish Sweet Hot Chocolate
This is a recipe that my husband and 22 year old daughter crafted one evening before a family movie night. I'm not a huge fan of Hot Chocolate, but I've got to admit this one is quite the cup of scrumptious sweetness.
Make It Photo Worthy
Sprinkle a few marshmallows over the top or you luscious cup of coco. Take it a bit further and drizzle chocolate sauce over the top or dust over some coco powder.
A Heavenly Good Morning
Now this is one of my all time favorites that I have been drinking for years. I absolutely love coffee. I honestly maybe drink too much a day, but I just can not go for long without a steaming caffeinated cup of coffee in reach.
Make It Photo Worthy
Drizzle over chocolate or caramel sauce. If you're in it to win it dazzle your friends by accenting your cup with milk froth or chocolate shavings.
I hope you enjoy our recipes.
Make sure to tag us if you make some this Fall.
Have any favorites of your own?

Friday the 13th has some amazing historical stories.
I know it is a day that harbors many fears. Still the stories from which the fear has manifested from are worth the read.
The Knights Templar
The Knights Templar were a group of honorable knights created by the church as a godly militia group. As time went on the group grew in numbers as well as politically. The rise in power and notability caused the religious leaders to view them as an enemy of the church. The church not only proclaimed them as an enemy. They also managed to politically tarnish the leaders of the Knights Templar. On Friday the 13th 1307 An order was issued and carried out to arrest and prosecute the leaders of The Knights Templar. This prosecution consisted of torture that lead to false confessions and then to the death of the Knights arrested. The horrific tragedy that occurred on Friday the 13 1307 left a devastating imprint. Making many fear the anniversary of this historic tail.
Christianity also has a place in establishing the superstitious thoughts surrounding Friday the 13th. The Christianity historic tale of Friday the 13th has many similarities to the Nordic Mythology tale. It is said that during the last supper of Jesus Christ. In which 13 disciples were in attendance. The disciple Judas is considered to be the 13th guest.
The disciple Judas, being the 13th guest was unlucky for Christ. Due to the fact that Judas went on to betray Christ to his enemy's. Judas's betrayal allowed Christ's enemies to locate him and arrest him. After Christ was arrested he was tried and crucified on the cross. Judas presence at the dinner supports the theory that 13 is an unlucky number. The day of Christ's crucifixion is said to have taken place on a Friday. These two facts combined continue to support the theory that Friday the 13th is a day to be viewed with uneasy feelings.
Friday the 13th is considered to be an unlucky day for many, but are you aware that not all cultures acknowledge this day with the same superstitious feelings that we do. In fact many Spanish-speaking countries do not acknowledge Friday the 13th at all. For many of them it is actually Tuesday the 13th that is viewed with the superstations of our Friday the 13th.
Have a happy and lucky Friday the 13th.

A few days ago I posted some Halloween games. I've had a few inquiries about that blog post so I thought I would share some more today.
The majority of those games that I listed are easy DIY projects. You more then likely have the stuff you need to create these games at home.
In specific I was asked about two games.
Halloween Pictionary is one of my favorites!
In our home we have played several different ways depending on the size of our get together.
We have an art easel that we used to hold a giant sketch pad.
We have also broken up into smaller groups and used paper on clip boards.
We always play with words that have to do with the special occasion that brought us together.
This year's list is pictured above.
(Please feel free to copy and print for personal use.)
The second game was tic tack toe. All I do is make a board on the table with tape. We use these little baby pumpkins on the board. I placed a tag on them stating if they were an X or O. This way I can still use them for thanksgiving.
Wishing everyone a happy Friday!
If you haven't guessed it yet, I really enjoy Halloween.
As I mentioned earlier this is the first year that I will not have any one going trick or treating. So in turn I have decided to make it a family game night.
This list could also be a great resource for any of you who are going to be hosting any Halloween parties.
Bobbing for apples
Guess how many Candy Corns
Rolling Pumpkin Race
Witch Hat toss
Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe
Pop the Pumpkin

I miss trick or treating. This will be the very first year we don't have anyone going. I think it may be a bit if a challenge to say goodbye to this portion of the night
I am however looking forward to seeing all the little ones come to the door dressed in their best costumes.. If you have little ones looking forward to trick or treating.
Here a few tips to get through the night safely!
A few years back, I decided to wear heels. My feet were killing me halfway through the night.
Make sure drivers can see you walking
Use flashlights and or some type of reflectors while out and about.
Try to keep those costumes short.
They can cause tripping with all the excitement of collecting Free candy!
If your driving...
Kids get excited and may not always be paying attention to dangers around them
Use the sidewalks if you have them in your neighborhood and try to cross at corners.
Trick or treating is fun, just remember to be safe and enjoy the memory making moments!
