Soooo you’ve been through the whole dating game! Downloaded every single app to meet the perfect one, been on countless number of dates and maybe even deleted all the apps to only download them back again. Oh yes I know that cycle! You’ve had the pleasure of meeting Mr heartbreaker, Mr sleezebag, Mr I look nothing like my pics, Mr too nice… and it’s been a very long time since you’ve actually met someone that you genuinely like, and then you do! And guess what? he likes you too! Yay! Congratulations! Deleting all those dating apps has never felt more liberating and you can finally invest your time with someone worthwhile. You now have someone to hold hands with and kiss whenever you want, hooooray! HOWEVER it’s still early days and you’re wondering whether this guy is for the long haul or just for now. In no way is this the 6 commandments but a rough guide to help you sniff him out better… so let’s start…
is key! So put that phone down. WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook later. You already know you’re both attracted to each other and get along which is great but if you really want to make a go of things then you really have to get to know him. After all it has taken you so long to find him and you don’t want to waste any more time either! Ask him things like, ‘what’s on your bucket list?’ Understand what makes him tick and what doesn’t. Does his morals, values and goals match yours? This will strengthen your relationship and help you lovebirds connect emotionally. Equally he should get to know you too and if he does then he’s a keeper.
but not too much! Remember to carry on being you! That’s what made him fall for you in the first place. If you feel like you are slowly losing yourself in this relationship rather than flourishing then you need to ask yourself why? Being in a relationship does require compromise but it’s got to be a healthy one. Have you compromised on what makes you happy? Carry on going to that yoga class, give time to your blogs, meet the girls for drinks! If he questions you otherwise then he is not the one! You’re allowed to carry on being you. The right man will support you not question you.
3. HE CARES…
about your hobbies and dreams! Spinning off from the compromise point if he shows an interest in what makes you happy then he is a keeper. For example, ‘I got you tickets to that theatre show you’ve always wanted to go’ or ‘I know you like salsa so I found a salsa class near your work. Maybe we can go together?’ or if he says something like, ‘I believe in you. You will be a successful musician.’ These are all good signs of a keeper. Not only does he listen and shows an interest but he also cares and encourages you.
each other! Debates with your partner can be stimulating and sometimes the deal-breaker. It can really test the relationship and bring out a side to him you haven’t seen before. It’s important that he respects your thoughts, ideas and what matters to you. For example a healthy discussion might go like this, ‘I understand what you mean but I feel…’ as supposed to, ‘you’re wrong.’ ‘That’s ignorance.’ ‘You need to change.’ In no way should you feel shut down or feel your opinions are not valued by him. If mutual respect is not there then he is not a keeper.
5. HE MAKES AN EFFORT…
with your friends and family! It’s a good feeling when everyone gets along. No one’s saying to be the dream team but if he enjoys spending time with your friends and family without clock watching then keep him! It’s important that he makes an effort with the people that means the most to you.
In the last few months I have learned a lot about how I dress myself. These are things that I have doing practically all my life, I just never noticed that I did. That is until it is pointed out. I thought it would be fun to share one of these instances today.
Remember Fashion is a Journey you are Forever on.
So let's take a little look down mine.
On afternoon the phone rings. It's one of our team members calling. She is curious if a particular coat buttons all the way up comfortably for a women with larger breasts. She informs me that the customer would like to purchase it for her daughter, but is unsure if she will be able to comfortably button it all the way to the top. Our team member remember that I owned one of the coats and decided to give me a call and find out my stance on the buttons. It was a simple question, "Can you comfortably button the coat up all the way"? My response was almost laughable, "Well, shit. I don't know. Let me give it a try". The question she asked was simple, one that I should have been able to answer without much thought. I however have truthfully never button the coat up all of the way. It then occurs to me that I never button or zip up any Fashion Coat that I have. Why would I button up my Fashion Coats? I know people do, and I know that the coat is designed for that. Yet If I need a coat that provides warmth, for instance when I go hiking and explore the mountains. I wear a different style of coat, like a coat specifically made for that activity. Within a simple 5 minute conversation I managed to learn quite a few astonishing things about myself and my Fashion choices.
The first is that even at my age. I still have those dorky OOHHH moments that everyone embarrassingly still has.
The second is that I never button up my fashion jackets, like ever. Even as a child I would never button or zip up a fashion coat. I want to show off My Style and Personal Flair. Which in turn means leaving my coat open. If I need a coat to provide warmth then I simply put on a completely different coat. Which ever way you choose to wear your coat is completely fine. I however had no contentious idea that I has separate categories of coats, i.e. - Fashion Coat, Mountain Coat, Rain Coat...etc..
Lastly I learned from this simple phone conversation that while my wardrobe is divided by seasons like most are. Mine is also subdivided into sections that pertain to certain activities. Such as hiking in the mountains, a day at the beach, Sunday Brunch, Friday night drinks, and so forth.
This phone conversation was really eye opening for me. When was the last time you realized something New or Old about yourself during a conversation with friends' or coworkers? It is truly crazy how our normal habits can be completely out of left field for some. Have you had any experiences like that?

Thavin & Marcob
When I was growing up my mom was full of Old Wives Tales. I swear she had one for every situation at any given moment and loved to share them with me. They would just slip off her tonged without a thought. Today I caught myself repeating one! No, really I said it and as soon as the words left my moth I cringed because damit I sounded just like my mom! So today's Blog Post is a list of Hair Myths curtesy of my mom!
Brush Your Hair 100 Times
Especially if you have curly cues like I do. You take the chance of causing your hair stress which can lead to unwanted Breakage.
If you wear that Hat for too Long
Your hat is not going to determine if you go bald or not.
Wash Your Hair Everyday
Okay I know that it is unnecessary and unhealthy to wash your hair everyday. However, if I'm being honest here, I have a hard time not washing my hair everyday. I just think that my hair feels too gross to not wash everyday. So my mom did win on this one, but if you can help it. Do not wash your hair everyday. Washing your hair strips it of its natural and healthy oils that your hair needs to be strong. So skip the shampoo and conditioner and give your hair the love it wants.
If you Pull Out Gray Hair
Yeah I'm not really sure how this was a logical assumption. Yet it is a saying and one that I heard pretty often. It however, like everything else on this list is a Myth. Therefore No pulling out a gray hair does not make two more appear!
Hot oil will Cure Split Ends
I'm not sure what my moms fascination is with hot oil, but it is her go to when I complain about split ends. The truth however as heartbreaking as it is, is that there is no remedy or special treatment to rectify your Split Ends. The only thing you can do you have healthy/non-frizzy hair is to just trim them off.
What were some of the Old Wives Tales or Myths that your family told you growing up? I would love to hear.

Have a Wonderful Week,
While Celebrating My Mother's 70th Birthday out in Texas. My Husband and I were able to sneak away for a few hours and travel down to Seguin Texas. We were on the Hunt for Amazing Independent Shops. Lucky for us we found two Independent Small Business that were exactly what we were looking for and amazingly more.
The Shop was the first boutique we walked into. It may have been the first store that we visited, but it really made an impact that stuck with me all the way home to Washington.
The Owner Jeff Koehler was more than Welcoming and Friendly to my Husband and I. The Shop as a whole was well Organized, extremely Welcoming, and contained some truly Amazing Finds!
I found these adorable Wood made Tree Cutout Display Pieces. I thought that they would be perfect for Showcasing our Tassel Earrings as well as a few other Elegant Earrings found in out La Conner Boutique.
Find The Shop at
10 West Nolte Street in Seguin Texas
Happy Side Note -- Jeff is also a Interior Decorator. So if you live close and are looking for some help decorating your home give Jeff a call.
The Raveling Gypsy was also an amazing Local Business that I stopped in at while out in Seguin Texas. The Owner was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly positive and gave me an amazing burst of inspiration. Which is always helpful and welcome in my book. She was extremely kind and even chatted with me about where she started and how she has grown into what she is today. Not only did she dazzle herself, but her shop was just as memorizing. She had a great amount of products in her store, which shows she knows exactly how to be space efficient.
If you happen to find yourself in Seguin Texas Stop By

This Last Week I have honestly been Blessed. I was able to, with the loving help from my Husband and Children, fly out to Texas to Celebrate My Mother's 70th Birthday.
It was not only a treat to help my mother ring in her 70th year on this planet, but I was also able to visit with so many beloved family and friends that I never get to see enough of. I truly had a blast seeing and catching up with so many wonderful people. I was not only able to reminisce of found old memories, but I was also able to make some amazingly unforgettable new ones as well.
This Trip was particularly wonderful because it helped to remind me of a few things that I think we can all forget from time to time.
Always Remember to Cherish and Celebrate your Loved ones. Never let anyone think that you do not value them. Show each Loved one in your life from time to time just how much they mean to you. Even if it is something as simple as a Lunch Out. Even the Smallest of Gestures can have the Biggest Impacts.
Show Your Love!
Show Your Appreciation!
Cherish Your Loved Ones and
Celebrate them Every Chance You Get.
Have A Wonderful Day,
Twitter is my Favorite Platform for Connecting with our customers on social media. We also use Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and of course Google Plus. Even with all of these other amazing mediums, Twitter remains my favorite. Over the last few years I have made some really great connections and bonds with quite a few people within Our Twitter Community. So much so that I thought I would share a short list of those who have influenced and really impacted us over here at ThavinMarcob.
Meghan is Fantastic at Sharing Tips on Blogging. Her twitter page is My Go-To whenever I'm looking for some New Ideas. I also find her website Smart Bird Social to be full of amazing information. In fact I am truly lucky that I found her when I did. I truly believe her Tips have helped me focus Our Blog Posts in a way that if I had not discovered her I probably would still be all over the place!
Justine is the Best! She's one of the few that seems to remind me to look up from whatever I'm working on and enjoy Life. I love the Simple Sophistication of her tweets. She shares bits of her Personal Life while still being Professional and she makes it look so easy! Which we all know is not really all that easy. Her webpage Justhaves is full of Everyday Lifestyle Tips. Go ahead and check her out!
Tim is this Amazingly Outstanding Innovator! If your looking for Inspiration Tim is the guy to follow. His follow through and motivation to keep hustling is truly inspiring. I was lucky to connect with him early on in my twitter journey and I can say there is a lot to learn from someone like him. He specializes in coins and I find that his passion flows through the screen. Take me for instance I have never been into coins, but his passion helped open up new avenues of conversation with my boys. They even ordered Wheat Pennies on eBay and tried out Tim's New App! As a mom, I always get excited when I find something to connect/bond over with the kids. Especially because they are young adults and teenagers! So bonding and connecting can at times be rather difficult.
*The link for Tim's app can be found on his twitter page or you can check out his website The Stamp And Coin Place
Kanika is new to our twitter community. She still however Stands Out with her Passion. The majority of the time when someone follows I receive an automated DM. There are times when I will send an message and receive nothing back. However my interaction with Kanika was different, we actually had a real conversation! I'm truly enjoying her Lifestyle Blog-LST Blog.
We have lots of Great Members in Our Twitter Community! As I am writing this, I think that it would be fun to Post a Blog like this once a season.
What do you guys think?
