Fashion for us does not mean shirts, pants, dresses, rings, sneakers, necklaces, or heels. It embodies the unspoken voice of our unique individualism.
We express who we are, what we are feeling, and what we value through what we choose to dress our bodies in. This however has not always been the case. Discovering fashion as an outlet for more than just function and style came about for both of us in different ways.
When did fashion become more than just clothes for you?
I discovered my more profound connection to fashion in high school. Rain or shine, I would dress in bold statement necklaces paired with beautiful flowing satin blouses. Although when it came time to pick up a few new pieces to kick off the next school year. I found myself wanting to abandon my old wardrobe almost entirely and restock it embodying the idea of chill, fuss-free, comfort. What I thought at the time was a typical wardrobe change-up, was my way of adapting and changing up how I presented myself on the outside to match the person I had grown into on the inside. While, of course, I wanted a more relaxed low maintenance morning routine, I also wanted to showcase to the world the carefree, easy-going, laid back aspects of my personality. Clothes we no longer just clothes; they were now a tool that I was using to express to those around me how I was feeling, what I valued, and who I was at that moment in time.
