Discovering great local finds at Saturday Markets is one of my families and I favorite activity. I have been taking the children to explore all that their local farmers, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs have to offer them since they were the tiniest of tiny tots. With the Spring season markets beginning to bloom. MaKayla and I ventured out to experience the easy paced friendly hustle that is a Saturday Farmers Market.
Our First Market Trip This Spring
With wide eyes filled with excitement we devised a plan to hit up two of our local markets. I know that it is early in the season so the markets are sure to be on the barer side, but we were both a little taken back. When we walked towards the first market and only laid eyes on maybe 8 tents. While we were hoping for more, we were still extremely happy with the venders that were out that rainy Saturday morning. A day prior we had just run out of raspberry jam. Making the sudden rush of joy even that more welcomed when our eyes laid on a table filled with a variety of jam. After a few delicious samples we settle on our old trusted flavor of raspberry. Once our jam was in our bag we were ready to head off to the next market. I honestly thought that I read another markets opening day was this past Saturday. Although when we arrived we were greeted by an empty lot in need of tents filled with local produce. While we didn't get to walk through a fabulous market. MaKayla and I did walk through the downtown area each taking home a goodie or two. Saturday Markets are our favorite so while this past Saturday was kind of a bust for us. We will keep our eyes open and our reusable totes on hand.
