Happy Friday Everyone!
Did you know that today is National Puppy Day!
I had no idea that such a day even existed.
Seeing as today is National Puppy Day I thought I'd share a little bit about my beloved pups.
Side Note--While they are not actual puppies any more. They will always be my babies.
Noble is actually my pup.
She was given to me as a gift for my 30th birthday.
Her age for the longest time never really showed. She was always bouncing around, jumping, and barking. Noble for the longest time was actually known in our house for being the Best of the Best when it came to jumping. She is only about 2 feet tall, but she could easily jump up to the height of a 6ft man. One of the funniest moments that I have of my precious pouch is of her jumping over a 1oft high stone wall. For a few year the house we occupied has a stone wall as a fence. While looking at the house my husband and I were in love with the wall. It provided privacy, looked like something our of Home and Garden, and would act as the perfect fence to keep the dogs and kids inside the year. Although we discovered within the first week that this was not the case because Noble my 2ft dog. Could simply jump over. I have even seen her do it. She not only made it look incredibly easy, but she looked absolutely hilarious while doing so. It honestly looked like she could fly. She didn't really require that much of a running start. She would simply stand back from the wall. What appeared to be charging her back legs with as much power as possible and the leap. She'd just leap over this 10ft wall as if it were a small rain puddle. Although knowing that she could jump over the wall was slightly annoying because now we would need to monitor her while she was outside. It still was one of the absolute best things because she was just so darn good at jumping over a wall that I would need two ladders to get over. Sadly however as time wore on she became older and her ability to jump to such great heights diminished. She now snores as loud as a bear. Sometimes the sounds she makes are hilarious that I can't help, but to let out a laugh or two. I also can't help, but smile when I hear her snore. Just knowing that she is sleeping makes me incredibly happy. Noble is a very sweet and extremely loving dog. She still loves to follow me from room to room. She however funny enough gets frustrated when I move around too much and won't just sit down. Since she is so old and admittedly a little pudgy for her size. She does not like to walk up and down the stair half a billion times. We have actually discovered a new character trait about she in the last year or so. In order to help her with weight management. We decided that we would go ahead and change the schedule at which she eats. Now Noble does have her mean streaks, but I have never seen her as mean as she gets when it comes to food. Just by simply changing her feeding schedule my dog went into full freak out mode and got rather aggressive. She started to eat whatever she could find. It didn't matter if it came from the trash bin or if it was even edible. She would eat it. It was one of the strangest things to bare whiteness to because Noble has never been that type of dog. Even though it was strange and concerning. Our family still shared a few laughs over it because in all Nobles years being a part of our family we had no idea that she felt so strongly about food.
This is Noble she is My Best Friend and has been for over a decade now. She knows when I'm happy. She knows when I'm sad. Just like I know when she is happy or sad. She has always been there for me just as I will always be there for her. Love you Noble, Happy National Puppy Day!
Our beloved McQueen is actually Noble's Baby. Noble was the first puppy that I have ever had. So when it came to having her spayed it just slip my mind. That however will always be okay with me because in return we got McQueen. Over the years McQueen really bonded with Gavin my fourth child. Those two are practically inseparable. If Gavin finds himself gone for the day. McQueen will wonder the house not knowing what to do with herself because her Best Friend is not home to play. When he does come home she is immediately by his side. she will even stand right outside the bathroom door waiting for him to come back out. McQueen is a very loving and affectionate dog. Any chance she gets she will smother you in kisses. It has been this way since she was a puppy. She is not an attention seeking dog, she just always wants to show you her love. Which is something that my family and I are incredibly grateful for because there is not better feeling than feeling loved. One of the best things about McQueen is that she has Eyebrows. They are the best because we can always tell what she is thinking based off of her facial expressions. This trait has only gotten stronger as our wonderful pup has gotten older and her face is filled with more white hair. She is an absolutely amazing dog that even at her old age still reminds me of a puppy. We are under the suspicion that she still carries the mannerism of a puppy so to speak because her and Noble have never been a part from each other. Not even for a single day. They always go hand in hand since the day McQueen was born. This little fact is not only incredibly cute and heart warming in my opinion, but also very satisfying that I was able to give McQueen a home and allow her to grow up with her parents. Even though we are not 100% sure if they are aware that they are mother and daughter. We like to think that they know. Which makes everything feel all the more perfect.
This is McQueen. She is filled with love that she just can't help, but to share. She is always there when you need to be cheered up or need a good ear to listen to you when you're feeling down. McQueen is always ready for a surprise day in the sun or a lazy day on the couch. She is an incredible pup with some great brows. She is not only Gavin's Best friend, but Gavin is also her Best Friend. Which fills my heart to the brim with warm fuzzy feelings and love. We Love you McQueen, Happy National Puppy Day.
Knight unfortunately passed away about a year ago, but I felt that because he was such a large part of my families lives he was definitely worth mentioning. Knight was actually my oldest daughters dog. They were each others Best Friend. There are so many funny memories that come to mind when I think of our old friend. One of the first incredibly hilarious and insanely infuriating moments that jumps to mind when thinking of him. It the first Christmas that he shared with our family. As decoration for the tree and as a fun little art project for the children to do. We made popcorn strings to line the tree with. If you have ever made one you know that sometimes they can be quite difficult and with five children trust this was not only an art project, but a family event. As everyone put in much hard meticulous work the popcorn strings were done and we happily wrapped them around the tree. At this time I actually still used glass Christmas ordainments instead of plastic ones. One day as my family and I left the house. We unknowingly come home to our Christmas Tree shattered and scattered all over the floor. Knight had decided to Eat The Tree while we were gone. He actually ate our tree. He winded up knocking it over and shattering all of the glass ball. So that he could more easily access the popcorn strings. At the time I can not tell you how much anger and frustration this little pup managed to fill me with. I remember being so upset. How could it not cross my husbands or my mind that putting popcorn on a tree filled with glass ordainments sounded like a good idea with a puppy in the house. Even though in the moment I was insanely irritated with Knight. It is now a fond memory that I pull out whenever thinking of him. It never fails to bring a smile on each of our faces as well as fill our heats with love and joy and plenty of laughter.
This is Knight while even though he is gone he is not forgotten and will always be missed. He was such a huge part of my families lives and will forever be. He was an incredible dog that never failed to make each one of us laugh everyday he was with us. We love him and miss him immensely. Happy National Puppy Day Knight, we love you.
A Look Back In Pictures
In writing about the puppies. I began to realize how much of an impact they had on the kids while they were growing up!
here are a few of my favorite moments with the younger boys and their best friends!
Our puppies may actually be dogs and not puppies anymore, but we love to celebrate them any chance we get because they really do add so much to our lives. They are apart of our family and deserve to be shown some of the incredible love back that they give us.
How do you plan to Celebrate National Puppy Day?
Happy Friday Everyone.
