I wish that I could be one of those people that wake up at the crack of dawn with a smile and a can-do attitude. Ohh how I envy your control over the snooze button. So that you have a better picture, I am the kind of girl that could get the best 8 hours of sleep her body has ever had and still hit that snooze button twelve times. I am also the kind of girl who has no concept of time in the morning. A fully awake, I know that it takes me about forty-five minutes minimum to get ready to walk out the door in the morning. Although in the morning, when I am freshly awakened from a deep slumber, can easily justify a ten minute morning routine. In all honesty, most days, I am forced to choose between a shower and breakfast. I also am left with no choice but to mentally run through my closet while I am shampooing my curls, trying to figure out what I want to wear that day. Every morning is one hectic swift motion to another. I can't complain because I bring it on myself and even though I hate having to choose between a hot shower and a tasty breakfast. In the spirit of growing as a person and evolving into more of a productive adult, I have decided to attempt to make one significant change to my morning routine.
Don't be fooled; it's not giving up precious moments of sleep to wake up earlier. I have decided that I am going to try to assemble and layout my outfits beforehand. For myself, the time spent finding an outfit is a make or break moment every morning. Some days I have no trouble slipping something on and walking straight out the door without a doubt in my mind about what I am wearing. However, there are days I can spend forty-five minutes trying on outfit after outfit trying to find that perfect one that is not only going to be cute, but comfortable as well. I know we all can agree the level of comfort on your fashions varies from day to day depending on how you are feeling. This small little fact is what I like to credit my morning demise too. So with an afternoon can-do spirit in hand, I am going to pre-assemble my outfits for one entire work week and see where that gets me.
With complete transparency, I am hoping for two happy outcomes.
1) A quick, easy, and headache-free morning routine
-No longer waste precious minutes due to whack outfits that don't fit my vibe for the day.
2) A clean and organized closet
-Disaster strikes and I'm panicked scrounging around for clothes. I'd love for my clothes to remain on the hangers instead of on the ground for once.
I am ready to tackle my morning with a fiery pre-planned smile.
I am excited to see how this next week goes for me and don't worry I'll make sure to fill you in so you can deliberate if you should pre-planned your outfits too. I know I'm not the only sleepy one out there that falters in the morning when it comes to getting dressed. I'll be the guinea pig you sit back and prepare to hear me rave about how revolutionary this decision was or get ready to listen to me speak of another try and fail. Either way, I'm pretty excited for whichever outcome.
