I Love Clothing and there is nothing I Love more than Cotton Clothing! It is not a secret. I think that Cotton is an Awesome Natural Made Fabric that makes for Incredibly Comfortable and Fashion Forward Clothing. It however is a Fabric that I do continually have a Love/Hate Relationship with. Here's Why.. Love One of the main reasons why I Love Cotton is because it is a Breathable Fabric. It is so Breathable in fact that if you play it safe you can get away with wearing it a few times before you absolutely need to toss it in the wash. The fabric itself dose not hold onto odors the same way Synthetize or Man Made Fabrics do. This helps the Fabric to be incredibly Versatile. You can Comfortably wear it to the gym, while taking walks on the beach, and for those fun cook outs in the backyard. I own some awesome Cotton dresses that always make an appearance no matter what season it is. One of the biggest reasons to why I own a fair amount of Cotton Clothing is for two particular reasons. The first is because it is such a Breathable Fabric. Living in Texas for 6 years I was always on the hunt for Trendy Fashionable, but Comfortable Clothing. I found that the pieces I gravitated to the most were the ones made of Cotton. The second reason that I wore Cotton so often is because we were surrounded by Cotton Fields. As many of you know I Love supporting small and thought the best way to do that was to sport Jazzy Cotton Fashions. Hate For years Cotton was my fabric of choice. That is however until I found out about how the material is manufactured. Did You Know, According to waterfootprint.org It takes about 713 gallons of water to make One T-Shirt! Did You Know, According to waterfootprint.org It takes 900 - 1,500 gallons of water to make One Pair of Jeans! At the highest that is 2,213 Gallons of Water used to make One Outfit. That number is just insane. My View Today I admittedly still Love to wear Cotton and still Love to support Local Farmers. However I have started to wear clothing that is a Cotton Blend. Yes, water is still used. Although I hope not as much. Which means more water can be preserved and we can start putting our Planet First. What's Your View? How do you guys deal with the environmental impact of your clothing? Do you upcycle? Chose your fabrics consciously? Or is this something you just never gave much thought too?
