I love skirts, but are you aware of how many types
of skirt there are in today's fashion industry.
How do you decide which ones to invest in?
Do you actually look at the style itself?
Here are a few different skirt cuts to help
you figure out the fashionable world of skirts.
Pencil Skirts are a very traditional cut garment.
They are a girls go to for every day wear.
This cut works on every body type making it a closet staple.
Definitely worth the investment.
To find the perfect pencil skirt look for something
that is slim fitting and allows the hem to fall below the knee.
Asymmetrical Skirts actually have a few different names
that they can be referred to in the fashion world.
1. High Low
Asymmetrical Skirts can be fun, but they are not what
I would consider an essential piece to your closet.
They are more of a special occasion type of skirt.
In other words a mood lifter, something to wear
when your bored with your wardrobe.
Yoke waisted Skirts will allow a more tailored look along your waistline.
The tailored waist has a tendency to create a more
expensive and sophisticated feel to your outfit.
This particularly style would be a great investment
as a timeless classic piece to your closet.
Pleated Skirts are skirts that contain several parallel folds
along the waistline of the garment.
Personaly I call these princess skirts.
I love how they flow when your walking or dancing around in them.
I would consider this type of skirt a closet essential.
Pleated skirts actually have subcategories.
1. Knife Pleated Skirts
The pleats are severely placed along the waistline of a skirt.
Traditionally the Pleated fabric will consist of a three layers,
which should all face the same direction.
2. Accordion Pleated Skirts
Accordion pleated skirts are a little different.
In that the pleated fabric themselves are arranged in
alternating opposite directions along the way the waistband.
Tulle Skirts are like princess skirts!
They are fashionable fun and modern!
Not only do They dance while your going about your day.
They also create a fresh chic look.
Tulle skirts are not all made out of Tulle.
Some are produced with variations of muslin, silk, nylon or gauze.
Draped Skirts are perfect for dinner out.
they are literally called draped skirts because of the way
the fabric is draped before the sewing takes place.
Mini Skirts are a must have staple in your closet.
They tend to be very diverse.
In that you can get away with wearing tennis shoes and still be in the height of fashion.
Fashion is about you!
It's about what you feel confident wearing.
So have fun and show off your favorite skirts!
