Communication is Key!
I know for me when things get a little crazy and hectic. I have a tendency to do two things. I will do a lot of alone thinking and run through different scenarios in my head. I also have a bad habit of saying only part of a sentence and not really completing my entire thought for whom ever I am talking to. My daughter has a bad habit of throwing in the towel and letting someone else take charge when the stress and frustration levels become to much. In situations where everyone is on a different page, stressed to the max, and exhausted. It is important to remember that Communication is Key. It may be annoying in the moment and seem incredibly silly and time consuming, but try to say full well thought out sentences. I know that when it comes to my family and I any other time we can do a lot of nonverbal communication and everyone will understand. Although when the pressure is on and every little thing starts to drive us insane. We can stand around and waste precious hours just talking in circles because no one is understand any one else.
What is are some of your Bad Habits?
Make Sure Your Vision is Clear
When the opportunity for change or growth presents itself. I know that one can not help, but to imagine all of the New and Great possibilities that are now mere inches from your fingertips. I know that I can not stop my imagination from running wild. While it is great to be able to have such Inspiration and Drive. It is also important to remember that when you explain your idea or vision to someone else. It is important to be able to explain it clearly and with as much simple and straight forward detail as possible. With going about things in this fashion other parties involved can get a clear picture of what your vision is. All while avoiding the frustration that comes with misunderstanding or not understanding at all.
I know better than anyone that when things get hectic and it seems like things are at an unbearable stand still. You can instantly lose all patience. Not having or losing patience when things become frustrating can and will only lead to more frustration. When things start to become too much and I can see myself having a hard time interacting with someone else because I have zero patience. I personally like to take a step back, breathe, and try to remember that everyone is trying there best to make everything come together. I also like to remind myself of the first two Tips.
1) Communication is Key
I need to remember to speak in full clear sentences. Out loud thinking is great and is something that I do often with no shame. However I have noticed that sometimes when I am out loud thinking I will not explain what I am doing. So someone always thinks that I am talking to them and not to myself. This creates for much confusion which ultimately leads to Frustration.
2) Make sure your Vision is Clear
My daughter and I love bouncing ideas off of each other. We work incredibly well together and the other never fails to help the others vision come to life. Although there are those times were one of us will present a very rough idea to the other. We are around a lot of the time. So most of the time the other can easily dissect the idea and see the vision the other is having. Although even we are not immune and find ourselves frustrated with the other because one of us just does not understand.
One of both of these is typically the sore for my lack of patience. So as long as I remember to step back and try to move forward implementing these two tips. I can help restore my level of patience and reduce the level of stress and frustration that can come along with the process of growth.
What are some things you do to
avoid or to lessen Frustration?
