Boom! Just like that, we find ourselves in the closing chapters of summer. Happy August, everyone. I hope your summer has been full of adventure, love, laughs, and lots and lots of hugs from those you love. This year summer went by way to fast for us. Not to worry because I'm going to squeeze as much sun time as I can over the next few weeks. I'm thrilled to introduce to all of you our theme for this month's windows. If you're new here, every month we create a new window display to match up with who we are as individuals and as a company, and we share our meaning with all of you here on our Lifestyle page. So Welcome August with our stupendous theme of:
"Society Loves To Judge Us All"
Have You Ever:
Have you ever walked into a room and suddenly you feel your body heat up from the tips of your toes to the top of your head? You know what I'm talking about that sudden embarrassment you feel because you realize that you are completely overdressed for the room you just stepped foot in. People are more than glancing your way; they are looking you up and down. The judgment from those looks feels like small little daggers cutting into your entire body. You start to feel unsure of yourself, your physical demeanor changes. No longer are you feeling confident in who you are in your own skin, but your feeling insecure as to wither anyone in the room will see the real you. All of this happens in a split second. It's fast, it's overwhelming, its a lot of feelings happening all at once and all you did was walk into a room. Society Loves to judge us!
We Don't Mean Too:
We are all a part of society, so of course, we judge, but we don't mean to judge so quickly, so harshly, and without all the facts. We know it's wrong; we tend to try and shy away from the act of judging others. It happens every day in every social event that there is. I'm usually overdressed, to be honest. Those that know me well know that how I dress is not about trying to outdo others, but it is, in fact, me just being me. The majority of moms I know wear sneakers and don't get me wrong I own plenty of my own. I love to wear then to the beach, the gym, the mountains, but that's about all the places I love to wear sneakers too. It's no secret that I feel more comfortable in heels, I feel like a more honest me when I'm walking around town or just hitting up the grocery store for a gallon of milk. I find that I am trying to get to the point where I can find outfits that will allow me to flow from a more me look to an instant more comfortable look which is what we have worked into our windows.
Discovering a New Part Of Me:
So here's my funny for the month. My idea of around town comfy is still going to be me looking and feeling hot. We all love versatility, which is why I love creating outfits that look phenomenal with my heels and my flats. Both variations of my outfit will not only help myself to feel more physically comfortable but also mentally comfortable with an outfit. People are always going to have an opinion, so who gives a flying fuck if people judge. I've decided to embrace me being me completely me for the first time. I'm not worried about being overdressed about being underdressed about the looks people pass my way, about the glances about trying to be a better me. This time around this new me is one that is perfect, it's one I'm going to embrace, accept, and love. I love my journey, but sometimes you have to pause in your journey just to take in the moments that you're in and that's me this year! Moments, Moments, and more Moments!
We featured a few different pieces of fashion in our windows with this thought in mind.
All Of these styles were picked with a few things in mind
1) They look all fantastic in heels or flats. 2) They can easily and comfortably walk you through the door at the office and the door at the wine bar. 3) Their versatility from a nice pair of slacks to a stunning pair of jeans is one of wonders. Your outfits are a beautiful reflection of your unique personality, don't let the fear of being improperly dressed or the fear of needing a complete wardrobe change dictate what fashions greet the day with you.
Our windows this month might be saying a lot, but we hope that it is a
message that we can all find deep and personal meaning with.
