Bullet Journaling is this new thing that seems to making
its way not only across the web, but into everyday conversations. I decided to be adventurous and give
this cool new idea a try.
Welcome to Part One of Two.
In Part One I'll explain how to see up a Bullet Journal. Which admittedly was quite intimidating at first.
Gathering the correct supplies is the first place to start your Bullet Journal Journey off right.
1. Blank Journal
There are a variety of Journals to choose that would be the perfect place to house your Bullet Journal. I went with one that I knew could fit easily into my purse. This way I could ensure that I had the capability to go with me everywhere I went. Although when it comes to your Bullet Journal choose a journal that will best suit your wants and needs, This way you can ensure more accurately that it will be a successful adventure of Bullet Journaling.
2. Pens in Multiple Colors
When walking through the office supplies of any store it can be quite outrageous the amount of different varieties of pens that there are available. Choose which ever you are most comfortable with using. Although I do suggest that you get a few pens in different colors that way you have the option to color code or exaggerate things in your journal.
When browsing online of different Bullet Journal Ideas. I noticed that a lot of people love to express themselves artistically. Through the addition of beautiful details. I sadly am not very artistic so to make up I ordered Calendar some Stickers Online.
Where to start
A journal full of blank pages can feel kind of scary. Those were the exact thoughts that were running through my mind as I was thinking of how to start my journal. I can to the conclusion that the best place to start with would be to create a Key. I used the customary symbols that others used. Although this is your Bullet Journal so feel free to use any symbols that you feel most comfortable with.
Above is a Snap Shot of what my Bullet Journal Key looks like. The important elements that should be included in the Key are Titles such as:
Chose which symbol will accompany each title. This will help your pages be more organized as you begin to fill your pages. I went ahead and added a check mark to show which were completed, cancelled, or if they moved to another time
(migrated). I then continued to separate using Color Coding.
My plan is that my Bullet Journal will focus on
5 Key Elements:
Once my Key was Completed. I made sure to skip a few pages in order to leave room for an Index. I decided not to start with the index mainly because I wasn’t sure where I wanted to start. All of the articles that I read made the process sound a lot harder than it needed to be. For now I’m good with simple lists. My first list of Ideas for
I wasn't really sure where to start. After much contemplation I came to the conclusion that the best place to start my writing was to jot down ideas that I had about our Adventure Tuesdays.
The Thing with adventure Tuesday is
First we have to come up with ideas of things we would like to experience. As well as to make sure and include in activities that we already know we love doing.
Second is being flexible and knowing that not all these activities can actually take place on a Tuesday.
I wrote down the basics like trips to the museum and picnics. Then something spectacular happened. I started to think of things I had never done before, but have always thought about doing, like riding a train! Once I started writing and talking as a group of things we would like to do for our Adventure Tuesday. It happened, I truly did fall in love. At that exact moment I fell in Love with
I have started to create other lists. I'm also working on the weekly planner part of the journal. I'm personally really loving Bullet Journaling. I think that it is the solution that I have been looking for forever.
