October is my birthday month!
I'm looking back at all I've accomplished plus all I've experienced and
realized that I have some knowledgeable life tips that I would love to share.
My 45 years of life learned knowledge is now your knowledge.
Forgiveness is the one thing I'm learning right now in my 40's. Forgiving myself for taking the wrong path, for hurting those I loved, for failing to be what I meant to be. That is what is needed to bring a slow and steady inner peace to oneself. Forgiving myself for my flaws is just as crucial as forgiving those I love for there's.
Self-Love seems like such an easy term to understand. Love yourself. Right? But what about, if, like me, you are living with an illness and simply don't feel worthy of love, even from yourself? Then is self-love still easy to understand?
It's more than just a term. To me, it refers to your entire relationship with yourself, and like any other relationship, it takes work. It takes work to maintain that connection between mind, body, and spirit/soul.
I think it takes some commitment even. Commitment, and devotion to you, and in society today, that is often viewed as selfish, ignorant, and just not acceptable.
Look in a mirror.
When you are feeling down, or sad, look in the mirror. Every single mark on your body is evidence that you are stronger than whatever that obstacle was, even if you didn't feel that way. Look in a mirror and celebrate that. Acknowledge how far you have come in your journey, and don't be afraid to go as far as to high five your reflection. It's easy to become discouraged in life, and there is nothing wrong with taking a moment aside and celebrating where you are at right now.
Go for a walk.
I always love spending time outdoors, but if you don ``t, then this might not be up your alley. When I go for a walk, I find a sense of peace in my mind and it is really comforting. I like to take that time to reflect on my day, and go through my emotions at various parts of my day, so I can really understand what is going on with me. Creating a barrier/separation, by going for a walk, allows me to leave behind what has triggered my emotions, and allows me to focus on being mindful and present.

Have a hobby
Having a hobby can be a beautiful way to express emotions without using any vocal words at all. It can be a creative outlet to empty your mind and focus on what is present, which can then allow for a calmer connection between your mind, spirit and body. Doing something you enjoy doing is a way of caring for your own needs and happiness.
Recognizing Your Feelings/emotion and triggers
Write yourself a letter
I'm sure you have heard this one many times, but it can be so therapeutic to do it. Clearing your mind and putting it behind a physical aspect (writing), can help to make it concrete and real. Once it's real you can work through it, and take care of yourself. You can also write something resembling a love letter to yourself and zone in on your strengths and accomplishments. Keep it in a place where you can read it when you are having a bad day!
The first peaks of light that enter my eyes in the morning are always accompanied by a groggy muffled sound, which is a call out to me beloved coffee pot ordering it to start brewing. A typical morning for me includes on the water used to brew my coffee, very few stretches, and absolutely no workout.
Autumn is a time of change, so why not change my morning routine just a little.
The worse possibly thing that can happen is I learn it's not for me and I go back to what my routine was before.
Wake Up To Water First
Instead of sipping on coffee first thing in the morning. I have made the switch over to 16oz of water. While it is not cozy and warm, it is cool and refreshing.
Stretch Out The Sleep
While I am drinking down my 16ozs of cold water. I like to multitask and stretch for a few minutes. I stretch for 10 minuets minimum, but if it feels right and I have the time to spare. I'll happily stretch for a good 30 minuets.
Warming Up For The Day
My morning workout is not by any means anything crazy or complex. It is simply and easy to execute at home workout. I enjoy it because it helps energizingly wake myself up without tiering my out so much so that I want to crawl back into bed.
20 seconds of High Knees with a 10 second break
(Repeat 3-6 times)
20 Squats squeezing for 2 seconds at the top
(Repeat 5 times)
10 Push Ups
(Repeat 5 times)
45 Second Planks
(Repeat 5-10 Times)
While some mornings I have more energy and can accomplish much more. Changing out and/or including different set, reps, or exercises. For the most part this is what a morning workout for myself looks like.
