On Sunday I try to make time for myself. Its one of the few times I allow myself to be completely selfish. Therefore I do, I wake up with a long lazy stretch. Tip toe into the kitchen to start the coffee. As it brews I catch up on all that has happened on social media since I last checked. Once I'm all comfortable and situated back into my bed. I do one of my favorite activities, I shop! I shop for myself, for my husband, my children, and my friends. I love and find myself drawn to the no pressure selling that happens online. That freedom that is available to look around for as long as I want and to not have someone breathing down my neck trying to push a product. Maybe I'm thinking about a product, so I put it in my cart. Maybe 5 minutes later I find something I like better and replace that item in my cart. With no hassle of remembering where I found the original product and putting it back in its rightful place. All I have to do, is simple click.
This Sunday ritual brings comfort, it allows me to be selfish. However not entirely, since I shop for everyone in my life. Not only dose that exciting self-indulging feeling happen when I am shopping, but it also happens when the package arrives. Again since I shop for all the people in my life, they get to share in that feeling.
To celebrate my Sunday morning ritual, I have a special discount for you. The discount can be found in our members only page. If you don't have access. All you have to do is just create an account, to gain access to this special offer as well as future special discounts..

I find immense comfort in qualities and characteristics that can only be found when someone "shops small". The personal greeting when I walk through the door; The genuine and intimate costumer service. The different fragrances that encompass the unique personality of the shop and its owner. These are the things that make me love shopping from small businesses..
Today I would like to share the reasons behind why I have chosen to shop from small business online as well as how I determine if a business is a small online shop.
Over the last several years, I decided to make a conscious effort to "shop small". Downtown life is something that I have always loved. However as I moved from place to place. I realized that not every downtown is a genuine downtown anymore. I found that this seemingly simple and captivating culture. Had been in some areas corrupted or robbed of the opportunity to share its lifestyle with its locals.
This is why I also make the effort to "shop small" when I am shopping online. Not only dose the atmosphere hold unique and compelling reasons, but I also understand the need and want to own one's own business.
When it comes time to decide who I believe to hold that downtown/small shop feel, when shopping online. The majority of my decision is based on what information can be found in the about us page. The more personal or the less formulated the message is. The more I can get a sense of how they operate and if it holds that true "small shop" feel. In addition to determining the general vibes of a place. Once I have made a purchase. I test/get a feel out for the customer service that is provided. If its great. I not only come back, but I make sure to recommend the place to all my friends.
For the next week or two we will be revisiting our previously featured owners. Giving you the chance to know them a little more. Hopefully guiding you along to making the plunge like I did to "shop small".
