I hope everyone's Memorial Day weekend went well. We had a blast here finishing up a few odds and ends for the new store location. We also took full advantage of the three day weekend and hung out as a family.
For this Monday's Blog Post I wanted to share the scoop on what is going on here at
Thavin & Marcob.
We will have a soft opening this week. We officially open our doors June 1st.
Our New Location address is
109 North First St. Suite 106 La Conner, Washington.
We have updated our Facebook address to show our La Conner address. Make sure to bookmark it, so you never forget where to find us.
Our website will still be up and running as usual. Nothing will change. You still have the opportunity to purchase from us online. We are also continuing with our newsroom.
We are growing, but we are not changing!
We will not publish an article on Friday of this week.
You guys are amazing, so I know you will understand why we have decided to put as much attention to the store front as possible.
If you haven't already you are definitely going to want to bookmark us.
This is because next week I am going to talk about how I DIY'ed myself to success.
Yep you guessed it I budgeted and busted my ass off to open this store front on a lean budget.. So make sure you stop in next week to read about all the fine little details.
Fashion is this amazing concept we use everyday.
Yet it is something that is unique to each individual.
Which is one of the reasons why I absolutely love fashion.
Fashion to me is about feeling confident, free, and beautiful.
My clothing choices help to showcase my personality to the world around me.
Here are a few of my favorite fashion articles from this last year.
Living in the northwest I grew up thrift store shopping.
It is one of my favorite places to find those incredible rare finds.
As well as amazingly affordable clothes. One thing in particular that I always keep my eye out for is that perfect shade of red. Regardless of it's form. Whether it be a lipstick, dress, or heels. I am always more than willing to welcome that piece into my closet.
Don't let those your mother's old fashion myths rule your style. There are lots of things that may have been taboo back in the day that is very much acceptable today. I like to think of fashion as being without rules. Read our original article on fashion myths. See if any of the myths you have heard match up to ours.
I want to take a minute to thank you guys for all your support. I am eternally grateful for each and everyone of you who stop in to read our blog. As well as those of you who stop but our online boutique. As many of you know we have been covering blog highlights this week. This will continue on to the next week. For next week I though in honor of our first physical boutique opening up. I would highlight our past business articles.
Until Then Happy Friday.
Happy Wisdom Wednesday Everybody!
Today I thought we would look back on our News Years Resolutions.I've been told that most people forget about their resolutions as early as 2 weeks into the New Year. I wanted to conquer 2017. So I have made a continues effort to stick to mine.
Are you sticking to yours?
After looking back on our goals set for year. I can proudly say that we are doing extremely well in conquering them! I'm feeling very proud of myself at the moment. While we have run into many obstacles and really debated taking the easier route. We have been able to stay focused and keep our sights focused on our bigger dream. Seeing as the year is not through and that we are still working hard to make our dream even more of our reality. I know that we will run into many more challenging obstacles. All that we have to remember during one of these seeming life ending crisis. Is that there are many paths to take to achieve your goals. The important thing is to not get caught up with the path your on, but to keep you dream in mind at every turn.
In the next week we are set to open up our Boutique in the new location. We will be keeping the online store up and running. So that those of you who find yourself too far away to come visit us in person. Still have the opportunity to utilize your buying power. The blog will also remain up and running with the same easy to remember schedule.
Now as for the #WednesdayWisdom portion of the article I thought it would be neat to share one of my favorite wisdom quotes with you.
"By three methods we may learn wisdom:
First, by reflection, which is the noblest: Second by imitation, which is the easiest: and third by experience, which is the bittersweet" ~Confucius
I would love to hear your favorite #WednesdayWisdom quotes. Share them with us in the comments section below or on any of our social medias.
Have a Great Wednesday Everyone!

I'm very sorry for getting this out so late in the day.
Today is Friday fun day. While I am not practicing our fun day in the traditional way.
We are having plenty of fun working on putting our very first physical boutique together.
I decided that I wanted to build all of my own funiture for the boutique.
Which is both a great and very taunting task.
I love that I am able to work along side my family to build something that will
help us further our vision for Thavin & Marcob.
However as the time counts down to our opening date. I can't help,
but get a little frustrated and overwhelmed.
Did I forget to mention that we officially open June 1st.
Being so close to opening and having so much work that needs to be done.
Is why this blog unfortunately did not get posted until late at night.
Here's a sneak peak at the table tops.
Tomorrow I plan to build the clothing racks and our check out counter.
I also plan to build wall shelving. Although I have decided that I think it is best to wait a week or two.
Otherwise guys, I'm excited to say that things are on schedule.
I'm exhausted and excited all at the same time.
Oh and in case your wondering were exactly we will be located on
109 North First St in Suite 106, La Conner Washington.
Once again thank you for all of the support.
Even just stopping in to see what we are up to is a huge help!
Have a great weekend!
We have very exciting news to share with you!
I am so excited that I am finding it hard to find the right
words to describe how excited I truly am.
Before I reveal our wonderful new. I would first like to thank you.
I give a great big thanks to all of you.
I'm very grateful for all of the support you have shown us from day one.
We started off with an idea that has slowly grown into a full vision.
There is a motto that says "Always Growing Always Learning".
Well in our case this motto rings true.
We are growing.
We are going to be opening our first physical location boutique next month.
Our move to a physical location was not intentional at this time.
Everything just happen to fall perfectly into place. As the motto goes
"Always Growing Always Learning". We are excited to start on our new
adventure and learn everything we possibly can.
La Connor Washington
We spent a day exploring La Conner Washington for our Friday Adventure Series
and I just fell in love with that adorable little town. A few weeks later we
happened to stumble upon the perfect place to house our boutique. Seeing
as this decision happened so fast and we are to open very soon. We have
been incredibly busy trying to sort everything out. With our growth also
coming as a surprise. I just wanted to take another moment to thank all
or you for supporting us, following us, and for just being you. If it weren't
for you none of this would have been possible.
What to expect
Here is what you can expect from us from this point on.
1. We will still be available online.
2. We will still except Guest bloggers.
3. Our physical location will have regular store hours.
4. The next two weeks blog posts will be blog highlights.
This way I can work on the kinks of opening up our first shop.
Next Months Blog Post
We're going to cover the start of our first location with you next month.
Which will include creating and designing our store front, marketing strategies, etc.
We started this journey together so why not stay true to who we are and
continue to share!
See you on Friday!
Staying motivated is hard to do on daily basis.
In light of it being Monday and how the motivation to get back to work can somehow magically disappear at the start of the week. I though today would be the perfect day to share some of my favorite motivational phrases with you guys.
Happy Monday Everyone!
I hope your week is successful.
I like to share our motivation pictures on our social media pages.
So make sure you're following us if you're not already
Also don't forget about our big announcement happening on Wednesday.
Talk to you then,
Happy Friday Everyone!
As many of you know we have been exploring different local Saturday Markets. Last Saturday we decided to visit the Bayview Farmers Market. The market was wonderful. It was not too small nor too big. The crowd of people flowed easily through the path ways from vender to vender.
As we made our way through the market. Our ears were delighted with the soft music of a local band. We also made sure to chat with several venders. One of the first we talked to was a women who handmade both meat and fruit pies. I love a good Meat Pie and my youngest is obsessed with Apple Pie. Being so her both was our first stop. We ended up picking out a Sausage and Vegetable Pie as well as an Apple Pie. Later that night we had the Sausage and Vegetable Pie for dinner and the Apple Pie for desert. While you might think that is a lot of pie to have in one day. It was in fact mouth watering delicious. The two pies ended up being our find at the Bayview Saturday Market.
After our exciting pie find we continued to explore the market. Another both that caught my attention rather quickly. Was a both run by a man who makes his own granola. I love granola. I think it is perfect to take as a snack into the mountains, mix it in with your yogurt at lunch, or even a delicious way to cure a unhealthy midnight craving. So when I saw the opportunity to expand my granola love to include one of his I was very excited. There were three different flavors in total. One was a cranberry another toasted coconut and the last was blueberry. I tried each one and thought they were all amazingly delicious. However the one I needed up taking home with me was the Blueberry Granola. It tasted crisp and fresh. I was also in love with the cinnamon flavor he added too it. When I commented on how I thought that addition to the mix was yummy. He told me he doesn't even put that mush in, but it makes such a difference.
One of the lasts booth we stopped at was a jewelry both. The women who had the jewelry had some wonderful pieces. We were particularly drawn to a metal plated bracelet. The metal plate had all sorts of interesting designs on it. Leather was used as the band. While we were trying the bracelet on, she let us know that the leather was hand branded. That made her beautiful piece of jewelry that more intriguing and beautiful.
The market in total was wonderful. We felt like it was small enough for us to convers with the venders on a more personal basis, but also large enough to occupy us for an hour or so. I do recommend that if you find yourself anywhere near the Bayview Market that you stop in and see all of the hidden gems it has to offer. Even if your no where near this market in particular. I still encourage you to go out and visit one. It is also both kind and beneficial for a community when people support small local business. Make sure to share your experiences with us on any of you Saturday Market Adventures. We always love hearing for you.
We have a huge announcement to make next week so make sure you guys bookmark us because you're gonna want to know what our next adventure is. We will be announcing it on Wednesdays blog.
until next time
Oh and in case you missed it. We have added a few new items in our boutique.
So make sure you head over and check them out! I'm loving mine!
Mother's day is approaching fast this year. In all honestly I completely forgot about it. Thank goodness for the floral industry. They always provide a great and quick last minute gift. As my children have grown in age one might assume that there chosen Mother's Day gifts would add well. I however have learned over the past few years. That I can still receive some odd/strange gifts. It is not that I do not appreciate their gifts. It is just that I believe that it is my day, so I believe I should receive something that I can cherish for many years to come. This year I have asked my children to make me a handcrafted one of a kind art piece. I wanted an image painted/printed on a canvas panel that they all contribute to. The great thing is this gift is sentimental, adorable, and was virtually inexpensive to make.
A Quick Easy DIY Every Mother Will Love
The General Supplies Needed:
A Blank Canvas
A Sharpie of your choice
Stamp Ink Pad
One of the kids came up with the idea to use a heart cookie cutter as a stencil. They also amazingly enough argued that the image would be of a bouquet of balloons, but the possibilities are endless. Once all of the shapes were drawn in pencil. They went through and outlined their heart in Sharpie. They choose to use Sharpie instead of paint because it had a faster drying time. The next step was for them to place their fingerprints repeatedly in their heart ballon. Once each child had fingerprint their heart ballon to their liking. Strings were drawn from the bass of each ball one all the sat to the end of the canvas panel.
The Big Reveal
I only have three of my five children still living at home with me. So only a portion of the picture is finished. Even though I am going to have to wait some time to have my other two children complete their heart ballon. I still love the way it turned out. I think it was a great way fir my children to work together and create something for me. Truthfully that is what I wanted most for Mother's Day. For my children to come together and create something for someone other than themselves.
Share the handmade gifts your children make for you on Mother's Day.
We would love for you to include us in your special day.
Thavin & Marcob is a place where you are celebrated for being you!
