I'm feeling fanciful and dreamy today, so why not play a fun little survival game. The ultimate question, "What ten things would you take if you knew you were headed to a deserted island for two weeks." After some thought and forward planning, here's what I came up with.
It's quiet, there are no sounds around me other than the splash of the waves. Of course, I'm going to want a lighter for some amazing bonfires at night. The show for each evening will be the twinkling stars dancing within the sky, but once again I may need some warmth, so a lighter is a must.
2. Sleeping Bag
Sleeping is a must, and I don't want funny things that crawl around in the night to touch my feet so yep a sleeping bag made the list. Not one of those cheap ones either I want one of the ones that I can make a cocoon out of the ones that zip all the way around cuz I don't want any of that creepy-crawly shit on my face either!
Come on we are talking about a tropical paradise hopefully. So, of course, I'm going to need a towel to dry off all that ocean water with. Lazy days, slow swims, no internet, no phones, just me and nature-loving the day.
4. Sun Screen
Days in the sun sound heavenly until the first sign of a 3ers degree burn, which is why sunscreen is an absolute must-have for any adventure on an island.
I'm not sure what titles I would grab. I would probably be okay with anything, just as long as there is something to occupy my mind with. Something that will allow me to transport into another time and place. To see others in a new light, even if they are fictional characters.
6. Solar Charger
I'm going to need this so I can boost up the radio for when I'm finished reading and am looking for a little joyful noise to keep the happy spirits alive. It's all fun and games until I want to call it quits and go home to those I love!
I need to make sure I can cut up some firewood for warmth and well as for those hugs ass bonfires I was talking about earlier. The other thing to probably consider is that mother nature is unpredictable. Which means the rain might come leaving me with the need for some type of shelter.
8. 2 Way Radio
I love background noise, so I just wanna listen to what's going on out there. What are other people talking about? What does there everyday look like? When I am done snooping and dancing, I am going to want to be able to call someone!
I'm not the let us go hunt a wild boar kinda girl. Therefore boxes of oatmeal will be just fine by me.
10. Water Filtration System
Clean water is essential, and it is a desert island, after all. The sun is a nonstop hot and harsh threat to your well being. Making hydration one of the most important things to keep in mind and to make sure I have access to while out playing in the water and building sandcastles.
What would you take with you for two weeks on a deserted island? Was there anything on my list that was a definite yes, or a definite no you need this instead. Let us know @ThavinMarcob
